From Central Station:Take tram 17 to Rozengracht and depart on Westermarkt (you recognise the westertoren!) and if standing with your back to the
tower, turn into Prinsengracht, walk along this canal, and after two blocks, the first canal at your right is Lauriergracht. We are situated at the next crossing, on the other side of the bridge, at the corner of Lauriergracht/Hazenstraat.

Celebrating the 200th anniversary this year of the birth of great Dane, Hans Christian Andersen (the veritable maestro of 168 fairytales including The Ugly Duckling, The Little Match Girl and The Princess and the Pea), the English Bookshop are organising a special afternoon for young bookworms as part of the Amsterdam Literary Festival 2005.

Bring your children along to the cosy basement of The English Bookshop - a place where people meet, books become alive and stories are whispered - for an afternoon of fairytale readings.

Time: 2.30pm-4.30pm
Price: 8 per child (includes a copy of Andersen´s Fairytales) Adults free
